And by the skin of our teeth, the PRIMA Web Site is published!
(It was supposed to happen in October, 2017, and it has... just.)
A HUGE effort was made to get everything converted from the http:
protocol to https: (and this is still ongoing in some areas). The result
is that the site connection you make in your browser is secure and your interactions with it are encrypted.
This site serves 2 purposes:
1. (The PRIMA side)...To raise the awareness of our company and the
products and services we offer.
2. (The COBOL 21 side)...To provide a COBOL friendly connection point
for people who have an interest in COBOL and for developers, analysts,
and managers generally.
The new site includes a Lounge area which has a bar where you can chat,
and a blog where you can make more permanent comments. Ask questions,
rant, or just share your thoughts and observations with people who have
a similar background to you (or at least share one common interest: COBOL).
There are NO advertisements on the site, the only cookies used expire at
the end of your session, nothing is stored on your accessing device,
there is no tracking of your movements or visits and you do not have to
be registered in order to post. (That MAY change; I'll see how it goes.)
You can download free software, and trials of software that is not free.
There are areas where I explain my views on things like using SQL with
COBOL and why I believe Objects and layers and Component based design
are the way to go...
You will frequently find me at the Bar and available for chat if you
want to get something off your chest or just say:"Hello..."
The chatroom will be cleared whenever I think it needs it, so be aware
it is public, and it is not permanent.
The content of the site will change and I will endeavour to keep things
of interest on the blog.
You can visit the site by entering: primacomputing.co.nz into the
address bar of your browser
Enjoy!
Pete.
