towards her. She said: It dove down and it flipped on its side, she
said: A grayish, diamond -shaped outline blended in with the sky but
appeared to be about 25 feet long, she said: In the middle of the
object, hovering silently at the height of a telephone pole, was an
intense light surrounded by two green lights and two red lights.

Nassau County police sais: Last night, the unidentified object moving
across the evening skies was a blimp. But then again, the Federal
Aviation Administration and the port Authority police said: It was
a prank by small planes flying in formation. More then two dozen
Nassau residents phoned newsday last night to report a strange, silient
object with blinking lights crossing north by northeast over Valley
Stream, West Hempstead, Garden City, New Hyde Park, Westbury and Port Washington. Leslie Gross reported that she and her husband were in
Manhasset about 8:30 p.m. when they saw an object like a kite....moving
slowly through the sky. There were white and red lights flashing
on and off. It was a seven-dot configuration. Then it changed from
a triangular shape to an oval shape. It was quite large. It was low
enough so that If it was a plane, you would have heard the motor.
After South Shore precincts received more then 50 telephoned queries
a car was dispatched to the Hempstead area about 8:45 p.m. Officers
Paul Scheibelein and Robert Schiller of the Fifth Precinct identified
the object as a blimp. They said: They could see the oval shape and
identify the runing lights. Port Authority police and the FAA said:
The UFO was probably four or five small planes flying in formation.

The following was posted to ParaNet on the 22 of March. ParaNet is
a computer network which is also in AZ and has phenomena subjects
    --------------------------------------------

I am also in question as to a phenomenon I observed about three weeks
ago. It was about 8:30 pm and looking out my window, I noticed a
white light in the sky. I watched for several minutes as the lights
grew dim, and brightened again. It did this about 4 - 5 times per
minute. I got a small 30 - power telescope that I had gotten from
a friend, and watch the object for about two more minutes. As I watched,
the lights continued to brighten and dim. When bright, it looked
somewhat like viewing a spotlight from a distance of 20 yards. When
it dimmed down, I could see no shape, but only a speck that looked
like a dying ember. During the whole time, the object hovered, absolutely motionless. after about three minutes it began to move across the
sky, apparently at high speed, although from that distance, my perception
may have been fooled. However, it must have been moving fairly rapidly,
as it moved from the position it was to the southeast across the sky
and disappeared over the horizon. Yet it moved that distance in 30
seconds. I connot estimate how far the UFO was from me, but it seemed
to be no more than 4 - 5 miles, however, as I said, I could not accurately judge the distance, but it had the appearance of being that distance.
I watch for it the following night, but it appeared nowhere. I cannot
say what it was. At first, I thought it may be a helicopter, but if
it was, it would not appear as a light, even if it shining an arc-
spotlight in my direction,Nor could a helicopter have move at the
speed which I observed. If it was a jet, it would not have appeared motionless, even if it were flying straight as the light I saw. So
as to what it was, I cannot say. Since that night, I have not seen
    the phenomena in the sky.

Frances Shaw was driving south on N.C. 226 near her home in Shelby
Sunday night when she had a close encounter with a perfectly round
orange object hovering in the sky.

As Shaw kept driving, she said the object grew larger and the orange
light it was emitting intensified and began blinking. Shaw, was scared
and thought it was going to land in her front yard.

Shaw, said it didn't land but disappeared just as she was pulling
up to her house. Shaw said when the object disappeared, it left a
    "trail of smoke."

County Sheriffs Department said three other people called, all with
in 15 minutes of each other, to report a bright light traveling west
    to east.

The Sheriff's department contacted the Federal Aviation Administration
in Charlotte, which reported no unusual fight experiments over the
    area or planes in distress.

Shaw, said she didn't think the object she saw was a plane. At first,
she said she thought it might have been a blinking light on top of
a tower. But as it grew in size and intensity. she could tell that

started coming toward us and I mean fast, she said. It was like a
big bright star. There were no blinking lights, no red and green
like you might see on a plane - and there no noise It move very fast,
then swung off toward highway 14. It has to be a UFO whatever that

    ---------------------------------------------
    Saturday evening March 1, 1986 at approximately 8:30 P.M. the CUFON -
UFO Information Service in Seattle, Washington and the National UFO
Reporting Center started receiving calls of a UFO sighting in the
direction of Payne Field. Witnesses said that they had spotted these
objects while driving on Interstate 5 near the north side of Mountlake
Terrace. The witnesses described that the objects were large in size,
although they could only see large lights. When questioned further,
they said the objects were the size of a quarter at arms length.
The witnesses said that there were nine objects total. They also said
that small white and blue objects were dropping out of some of the
larger objects but did not hit the ground, instead headed for the
north at fast rates of speed. When asked how many witnesses altogether
there were, the witness described that he had counted fifteen cars
pulled off to the side of the freeway observing the UFO's. The total
duration of the sighting was about 30 minutes. The larger objects
were then seen heading north also in formation. At exactly 11:00 P.M.
all three news networks in Seattle, Washington gave their account
of the sighting. All three had a different story. One explanation
given was that FAA said that Payne Field was having aerial maneuvers.
Another station said they called Payne Field and they stated it was
possibly balloons. The next day after the sighting, CUFON called Payne
Field and talked with Sargent Tinsley-Army Opera- tions. She checked
flight records for that evening and said that there were no military
maneuvers going on at Payne Field at the date and time of the sighting.
She also stated that most of the time they do not have maneuvers going
on after 9:00 P.M. because of noise levels. This is a highly residential
    area also.

By coincidence there was a head on collision with two small single
engine aircraft two weeks prior to this sighting. Two witnesses observed
two planes colliding overhead in the Black Diamond, Washington area.
The witnesses described the plane exploding in the air on impact then
watched the small plane head towards the ground. They said the other
plane then went on its own way. Although the witnesses said there
were two planes, none of them were able to describe it accurately
and the plane that departed was never found. Two days later after
the incident, a helicopter that was leased by photographers for National Geographics was found crashed. The photographers were found dead
in the helicopter near Mount Saint Helens. The reckage was found on
flat ground with no reasonable explanation according to FAA.

CUFON contacted FAA investigator to find out if they had any details
on both accidents. The FAA investigator told CUFON that the helicopter
may have had a "whiteout". When asked about the mid air collision
with the two single engine aircraft, the FAA investigator said he
didn't believe there was another plane involved. This meant that
he was disregarding the testimony of the witnesses. As to this date,
there has been no wreckage found of the second aircraft.

Witness saw first small flashing red and white lights in distant
northwest sky. Then a very large, bright round white beam of light
replaced the smaller ones. Came straight towards her home. As it
flew closer she opened her window to see better and barely heard anything, possibly the low hum of an engine. It approached within an acre or
less of the house and then veered slightly to the southwest, skimming
over the treetops toward the Post Road and Long Island Sound. Witness
thought she saw a very large, completely darkened, elongated elliptical
object about 50 to 100 feet long gliding over the trees. Other listeners,
area residents, were calling in to tell of their experiences. One
witness said this "thing" had gone right over her car and that she
had pulled to the side of the road, shaking. A male caller described
it also as about 50 feet long. Many said that it hovered overhead
and then suddenly disappeared. Robert E. Hagadorn, a Ridgefield resident
in another state stated he saw lights overhead, going parallel to
Route 84 East. He was driving on Route 84 at the inter-section of
the Taconic Parkway in New York about 8 p.m. the same evening, one
    hour before Greenwich residents sighting.

saw three rows of bright white lights about 50 feet long hovering
at 10:55 p.m. between Georgia-Pacific Corp. mill and Squalicum Harbor
Marina. The object remained over the city for about five minutes,
then moved slowly to the north, until it disappeared over the hills.
Both stated they observed a helicopter, which seemed to be almost
tailing the object. They stated they spotted the lights while heading
toward the city on Boulevard. The object was a "flat cylinder" with
the bot-tom and top lights brighter than those running down the center, according to Henley. The bottom lights appeared to shine upward.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) - Multicolored UFO's the side of ping-pong
balls were seen in the skies over Brazil on Monday, and the government
sent fighter jets to chase them, the air force minister said on television.

Because they saturated our radar system in Sao Paulo and because they
were interfering with air traffic, it was decided to send up planes
to pursue them, Brigadier Gen. Otavio Moreira lima said yesterday.

The air force immediately dispatched four fighter jets - two Mirages
and two F-5s to find the flying objects, which the Air Space Defense
Center had located over the cities of Sao Paulo, Sao Jose dos Campos
    and Rio de Janeiro.

One of the F-5 pilots reported seeing objects that he said were
multicolored, Moreira Lima said. adding, He reported that 13 of these
objects accompanied his aircraft. Another pilot described the objects
as the shape and side of a ping-pong ball flying at a speed of (840 mph)
    a leading news network, reported.

The jets, which also picked up the UFOs on their radar screens, tracked
them for almost three hours, but had to turn back when the planes
started to run out of fuel. I can't give an explanation for this because
we don't have any, said Moreira Lima.

PETALUMA, Calif. More then a dozen people reported seeing an unidentified flying object hovering and darting over this suburban city north of San Francisco early yesterday morning.

I looked up and saw seveal orange lights hovering in the sky, said
Sue Heart, who was delivering newspapers at 4:30 a.m. when the UFO
    was sighted.

A California Highway patrolman described the fast flying object as
a large, orange X with white lights on the front.

All witnesses agreed it was not an airplane, and air-traffic and military spokesmen in the area were unable to explain the object.

The sighting came three days after Brazilian air-force jets reportedly
chased more then a dozen fast-moving objects marked by intense green,
    red and white lights.

Bright lights hovering over Green Mountain Reservoir and Kremmling...

Twenty-plus calls to the Summit County sheriff...

And sightings by the sheriff's department and the police departments
    of Dillon and Silverthorne.

Science fiction? Even after seeing them, Kremmling police officer
Scott Koch would like to believe it is.

On Sunday, April 20, a call came into the Kremmling PD from the Summit
County sheriff's department, reporting numerous UFO sightings and
inquiring if any similar calls had been received in Kremmling.

Koch, who was on the 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift that night, saw stationary,
colored lights in the skies directly over Kremmling. He then was
informed of sightings near Green Mountain Reservoir, and drove down
Colo. 9 to the county line.

There, a large group of law enforcement officers from Grand and Summit
Counties was witnessing something stranger than fiction. The lights
were viewed over Williams Peak and the Gore, and through a high powered telescope, the objects looked to be triangular in shape, with lights
on the outer edges. They were observed to hover, then "take off"
    to the southwest.

The most startling aspect of the occurrence was the evasive action
of a jet plane, which all present saw veer around one of the objects.
Koch figured they watched for about two hours.

Fact? Fiction? These witnesses were trained ovservers, professional
men who viewed something alien to their natures.

They really don't want to talk about it.

But they don't deny the fact that something truly strange was out
    that night.

State police at the Southbury barracks said the crafts were probably ultra-light aircraft, but a New York sate trooper said they were regular

"They few right over the barracks, it was very impressive," said Trooper

Kontos said the barracks received a half-dozen calls and "a whole

    to troopers.

He said the Stormville, N.Y., barracks notified police about the
aircraft. He said the pilots throttle the planes' engines to make
it appear they are standing still, and then suddenly take off at a

The Putnam County Sheriffs' Depatment, Brookfield police and Connecticut

    Forensics testing UFO evidence

Examiners at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences will be testing
the only evidence of a UFO which fell in Washington County in an effort
to unravel the origin of the object which apparently exploded before
    it crashed into a backyard.

It left trees and plants broken and damaged, but no clues as to what
it was or what caused it.

Mr. Jim Small, a trace evidence examiner with the Forensic Science
lab who specializes in examining evidence from arson and explosions,
said the lab received samples of the damaged plants and trees from
the Washington County Sheriff's Department Wednesday.

The first thing that we will look for is some type of explosive residue.
Beyond that, I don't know, Small said.

The explosion, which occured March 5 in the backyard of the Jesse
Wallace Henson family in Frankville, was investigated by Washington
County Sheriff William J. Wheat. Wheat said he had no idea what caused
it whether it was a land explosion or caused by something that fell
    from the sky.

Witness observed 20 miles NE of Baltimore six F15 aircraft flying
at a high altitude laying down heavy vapor trails and as they passed
out of sight to the south he observed a small object coming from the
north moving at a high rate of speed. It caught up with the vapor
trails and passed through them and then maneuvered around and started
moving parallel with the vapor trails and came within a short distance
of the F15s and made a sweeping turn at which time it reflected the
sun and proceeded back to the north and out of sight. Witness is
a 66 year old retired pilot. Observed the object for twenty seconds.
The object did not leave a trail and at one point it came to a complete
stop while traveling at a high rate of speed and then started moving
    again instantly.

An unidentified object seen last week in this rural town along the
Tennessee- Kenutcky border was really a U.S. Army helicopter from
Fort Campbell, KY, U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon said Wednesday.

Congressman Gordon, called the U.S. Army and Air Force to investigate
the UFO matter and he found out that it was a helicopter, said Meg
McKnight, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Democrat.

Residents in Celina reported seeing the craft on July 8, through
july 10, after an intial sighting by 200 people at a softball game,
says Clay County Sheriff's dispatcher Lisa Gail Boles.

Witnesses said: the object was 250 to 300 feet long, with an octagonal
shape, at least four outside lights and a beacon at the center.

However - Capt. Randy Pullen at Fort Campbell said: the crafts are
about 30 feet long. Major Mike Dormeyer at the Fort Campbell Army
Base confirmed that three UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters were flying
on all the nights the sightings were reported, Ms. McKnight said.

Dormeyer said: the crafts were not easily identified because they
are equipped with turbine engines that cover up the sound of the blades,
    Ms. McKnight said.

The Clay County Sheriff's Department has classified the object as
    a plane.

However, Ms. Boles said: "It wasn't a helicopter, I seen it myself,"
she said:" It was a two-engine plane that followed the same route
    for three nights."

Residents in this rural town along the Tennessee Kentucky border say
an unidentified object hovered over a local softball game and has made
several other appearances in the past week.

The craft was first sighted by about 200 people at the softball game
on Tuesday, said Donaid Napier, publisher of the local newspaper.
    The Clay Citizen.

It was making just a deafening noise...Out on the field, the umpires,
the pitcher, the batter and everybody just stoped what they were doing
and just looked straight up. It got everybody's attention, Napier
said. Witnesses said the object was 250 to 300 feet long, with an
octagonal shape at least four outside lights and a beacon at the center.
It looked just exactly like a jet plane and sounded like it was going
to crash. It was going down at about a 45 degree angle right toward
    the river, he says.

Clay County Sheriff's Department officals said they have had numerous
calls about reported sighting since Tuesday. Dwight Goolsby, owner
of a local restaurant said he saw the craft, It had one big white
light spotlight-like on each side shining down on the ground. He said
you could see real good on the ground. It was just sitting there,
then it eased off over the horizon.

Melba Burch, of the Chamber of Commerce, said the craft passed over
her home. It sounded mighty darn low. She said my husband's worked
around planes and I've been around planes all my life. This wasn't
any light plane that came over my house.

crystal clear and the light was moving real fast, incredibly fast,
faster than a fighter leaving a vapor trail. He was really amazed
by maneuvers it made and the remarkable turns it made. It was above
them for a while. Made maneuvers half a dozen times. Some were pure
90 degree turns. Seemed to slow down and stop a little, hesitate
and then move and make a turn. Made zigzags. First came from north
and went south then went west and hovered then moved few zigzags and
then as it came towards then it made really sharp turn then headed
back toward west and out of sight. Maintained the same color the

A number of cars on US route 119 observed what they thought was an
aircraft coming down out of the sky and looked like it was going to
make a crash landing in the middle of the highway. Cars coming from
both directions observed it. It had green lights, six to eight lights,
larger than normal navigational lights, none flashing. Observed for
30-40 seconds then from each direction there was like a bend coming
around and right at the spot where they lost sight of it. When they
all came around the bend the hillside was on fire indicating that
it had crashed on a real steep embankment. People stopped on both
sides of the road to climb up the embankment to put out the fire thinking
that an airplane had crashed, but there was no crash and the object
just disappeared. There was a nine foot diameter fire on top of the
hill. The report went into Emergency Service as an airplane crash.
They went up on the hill the next day and found two burnt circles,
samples have been taken and are presently at the lab. What was unusual
about it was the fire was put out very quickly but after 15 hours
of the incident the area where the fire had been still had warm stones
but outside that area the stones were cold. One witness was coming
from California and was an air traffic controller. He stated he would
sign a statement stating that what he saw was not a conventional aircraft
and it was double tiered object with eight to ten green lights and
whatever it was was not a normal aircraft.
