Is there a way to test the filtering from text/subject.can ? or turn on
debug to see if it is ignorning the subjects, as expected?

Are these valid filter strings ?

Yes, there are log messages when incoming messages are filtered due to subject.

I don't think so. See https://wiki.synchro.net/config:filter_files for the rules and examples.

I did see it work for mail but haven't seen it work for newslink/usenet.

Is the wiki down? I've tried multiple browsers and it just spins and times out. 9:35 am Eastern 7/11/2025

The filters all use the same underlying code, so I wouldn't expect "*something*" to work in any case.

My Internet (Spectrum cable) was out from 3:47a to almost noon, PDT. It's back up now.
