I hope that it does what you want. I admire the GrapheneOS devs for
their efforts in degoogling Android. However, I have some concerns that
the *only* phone that Graphene recommends (or actually works with) is a
Google Pixel. Can they ensure that none of the Google hardware can call
home to Google? Of course, they can't ensure that your mobile phone
provider can't monitor your calls, or indeed your data if it isn't
encrypted. Even a Pinephone can't do that.

How about a german Volla Phone with Ubuntu Touch and a NymVPN subsription,

I hadn't heard of that. Looks a possibility, if a bit pricey.
Interesting to see the continued use of Ubuntu Touch if wanted. Is the
VollaOS that much different from GrapheneOS?

I wonder if the NEXX phone really will appear in June 2026.

I must admit I am not much informed about the latest trends in privacy
related smartphones, so can't answer that.

I only have an old Android SAMSUNG J5, which I am playing with.

However, this thread awakes my interest and I am now eying a Xiaomi
    smartphone.

    https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/surya/

It is affordable and because of Ubuntu Touch, I can cross-compile
then privacy/anonymity apps written in Go or Rust from my PC to
the Xiaomi, which is pretty cool, I think.

    Regards
    Stefan
