Sure, we SAY it's because we want to give to charity and support a
good cause, but let's be honest: it's just a chance to get cheaper
    games. ;-)

But c'mon, you can't argue with this one! ;-) https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45565804/sale/Wish200WeekCharitySale

I'm having a real hard time with this sale, though, but only because I
already HAVE pretty much all the games on the list. Well, except for
the fishing ones. Still... dying kids' last wish; I suppose that
justifies adding a few more games to the library.

(Or I could just give the same amount I'd spend to the charity
directly*... but then The Number wouldn't get any larger. ;-)

The two problems I have are that it's not clear how much of the money
goes to the charity in question and I assume there's no option to use
Gift Aid which allows a charity to also claim back the tax (charity
donations are tax deductible) which mean an extra 25%.

Now that doesn't mean I'm against the event as it will raise money but
if my motivation was to support them I'd donate to them directly.

I'm the opposite. I always round up to the nearest dollar whenever
that's the option for a charity, but direct giving I reserve to a select
    few "charities".
