Hearing this made me exuberantly happy (at least for a little while). This just seems like a great franchise to me: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1203170/Darksiders_4/

The description says it’s a direct continuation of Darksiders 1, so hopefully the look and gameplay will be similar also, that bodes well!
Loved the first game so much, as well as the novel The Abomination Vault

Never played them. I just bought III Deluxe for $10 because I trust
    you rms! :-)

I will give it a go someday.

The first game is by far the best, with excellent writing, start there.

Well, now all I have to do is finish Darksiders 2, start Darksiders 3,
    and then buy Darksiders 4.

I wasn't as endeared by the games. It's been a long while since I
played them, but I recall a lot of uninteresting trekking through
samey-looking levels, a cliche setting, uninspired combat, and clunky platforming.

Not that any of that will stop me from adding "Darksiders 4"
eventually. The Number is a demanding mistress. ;-)

Unless madureira comes back and most of the team that did the original
and II with him, i don't have a lot of hopes. III was Darksiders in name
only and they made the mistake of chasing the trends that were popular
at the moment, rather than evolving their own formula.
