• FREE GAME: "Vile: Exhumed"

I don't rate the games. I just announce them.
(well, okay, sometimes I rate them too ;-)

    * Vile: Exhumed
    https://dreadxp.com/vile-is-banned/
As the URL above indicates, this game is not on Steam.
It used to be, though, before Steam (and Visa/Mastercard)
had their little hissy-fit and decided that anything a bit
risque was too much for its audience to handle. Apparently,
Valve relented on this particular game but the developers
decided just to give the game away for free. That's the
story, anyway. The game itself? I think the name gives it
away; it involves digging through the files of somebody
else's computer and exhuming some vile stuff (see? the name
makes sense). It's not really the sort of game I'm interested
in (what can I say, I don't like being nosy) but I can
understand some people find that sort of thing appealing.
Anyway, it's free (although donations are welcome, and 50%
    goes to a charity)

    That's all for now.

I am going to pass as well but not due to the type of game this is or
its content. I simply prefer my games to be on Steam.

I went through the trouble of organizing my Steam games not too long
ago and I just want all my games there now.

I'll admit, I passed on this one for the same reason. Partly because I
just don't need another "loose" game cluttering up the hard-drive, and
partly because --for all it may be a panacea-- I just trust games
vetted by Valve over downloading some randome executable off the
    Internet.

The fact that the game itself doesn't seem all that interesting helps
    a lot too. ;-)

That's it exactly. I have no 'loose' games that I can think of.
Everything is either on Steam, GOG or Epic. I have enough games
already on just those three services to last me the rest of my life.
