So, at long last we're back on schedule for these announcements. Well,
in truth we've been following schedule for the last two announcements,
but it never FELT like it because the number of games was so low. But
this time, we've got a bunch of games to discuss.

    * FATE: The Traitor Soul (via GOG)
First up is another FATE game. I think I've said it before,
but I have a really hard time keeping all of these games apart
in my head. It's not so much that there are so many games, but
I find none of them particularly distinctive... whether from
each other, or from other action RPGs in general. Is "Traitor
Soul" one of the games in the series I played? Is it any
worse or better than the others? I can't remember. It's fine,
I expect. Not great, but if you want a fairly generic action-
RPG experience, FATE --in whatever version-- has you covered.

    * Necroking (via GOG)
    A retro-graphic'd strategy rogue-like with deckbuilding
mechanics. Well, the turn-based strategy might have been
interesting, but everything else about that description
    screams at me to run away from this game. It might be okay;
    I'll never know.

    * Sid Meier's Civilization 3 Complete (via GOG)
"Civilization 3" is unlikely to top anybody's "best Civ-
game" list, but in the end it's _still_ Civilization and
worth playing. This package includes the base game, the
"Play the World" multiplayer expansion, and the "Conquests"
expansion that adds new scenarios and nations. Sure, this
may be another of the many games that ends up in your
library and never gets played, but at least this one
DESERVES a spot in your library.

    * Thief 4 Definitive Edition (via GOG)
This is the one where Garret the Thief starts wearing mascara.
Not a bad game (and, in fact, it's got a number of memorable
moments), but it's got some odd design decisions that make
the game worse than it should be. It's only saving grace is
that it's the last Thief game we got, so if you want to sneak
about the City with the most visuals, this is your only option.

    * Tin Hearts (via GOG)
I don't know much about this game, but on the surface, it
looks like a Pikmin clone, except you command tin-soldiers
instead of colorful aliens. I can't say anything about the
gameplay, but the visuals, which have you wandering through
toylike wonderlands, are quite nice. I'll probably give it a
    try for that reason alone.

    * Filthy Animals: Heist Simulators (via EPIC)
Apparently "heist game" (e.g., "Payday-clone") is now a genre.
This game does it all in top-view though, and your gang is made
up of anthropomorphic animal characters. Also the game is
more fantastical and puzzle based rather than an action/shooter.
I can't see the appeal of this one, but more because it's just
not a style of game I'm interested in than anything bad about
    the game itself.

    * I Love Finding Wild Friends CE (via Legacy)
Yeah, you know what this is. There always has to be a
Hidden Object game included in a Prime Gaming bundle, and
that's what this game is. This time, you're finding
    critters in the wilderness. Whee.

Sure, there's nothing truly exciting about these offerings this time,
but I'm not really going to complain too loudly about a selection that
includes a "Civilization" and "Thief" game (even if neither are the
best in their franchise). Again, none of these games are any reason to
get Amazon Prime... but they may be just enough reason not to cancel
the service if you already have it.

See you all in a couple of weeks!
