Seriously? I just got through the 1997 version in razor sharp 1440p and
super fuzzy textures. With zero old fond memories for it, I'll pass.

And already for sale on GOG (albeit as a pre-order. "Playable November
    20, 2025").

As much as I enjoyed "Outlaws", I'm not really looking forward to
this. Firstly, it feels --like so many remasters-- unnecessary. It's
not really adding anything to the game, and it's not like the original
is that hard to get running on modern hardware anyway.

Then, it being Nightdive, you just know they're going to port it to
their Kex engine, and I just don't like how games feel running on Kex.
They lack a... I dunno, a granularity and roughness that the originals
had. They ported "Dark Forces" to Kex and I didn't really enjoy it
    that much.

and it's not like this remaster seems to be adding much to the game
beyond the usual "quality of life" and "widescreen" improvements.
Except the former seem to be fairly minimal (the original game already
had most of the QOL features we expect, like WASD), and I don't think
the game really benefits much from widescreen.

Plus, for all the strengths of the original, its also rooted in a lot
of old-school annoyances, with mazelike levels and poor signposting.
It was enjoyable for its age, but it's not something a modern audience
    will really enjoy too much.

Like all games, I'm sure this one will inevitably get added to the
collection. But I'm not even bothering to wishlist it. It just doesn't
seem worth the price, given that I own the original (both on original
CD and as a digital download) already.
