    The first season of Fallout on Prime was pretty spot on. I just watched
    the trailer for season 2 and it looks like they're doing New Vegas and
    Mr. House as a plotline. I'm sure it will be a good time.

    Lots of nice characterizations in the first season. Especially the fresh
    from the vault young woman who has to lose her sense of morality fast.

    I will post when I see the first episode, but it's looking like the curse
    of video games in traditional entertainment media has passed over the
    Fallout series.

    Stay tuned...

    West of House
    There is a small mailbox here.

    read leaflet
    "WELCOME TO USENET!

    USENET is a game of adventure, danger,
    and low cunning. In it you will
    explore some of the most amazing
    territory ever seen by mortals. No
    computer should be without it!"

    `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
    PS: Fallout Anniversary Edition is so god awful unstable that I followed
    team FOLONs instructions and downgraded to version 1.10.163.0 GOTY, which
    is before this all started with the high res textures. The included mod
    manager doesn't for the old version doesn't work any longer (see below),
    but it accepted and downloaded the mods I had already subscribed to
    previously.
    I don't like this as a trend. "Upgrading" gamers' stable, modded games to
    a slapdash, bugfest, cash grab, "you can't get mods the old way now you
    have to pay for them" exercise in utter enshitification. This level of enshitifying feels brand new to me. Has any other pub done this? Usually,
    when they mod or patch a game it gets *better*. Bethesda seems to be in a backslide ever since the high res texture pack.
    It's infuriating that they took away the old game, including its mod
    manager. This should never be done without fully functional access to
    previous versions. Downgrades should be mandatory Steam policy, not up to
    a cash-strapped pub. I am grateful to team FOLON for giving me an off
    ramp from this mess.
    Look under "Downgrading Fallout 4 Manually." It might be best to pull the depots now and archive them before someone at Bethesda discovers the
    loophole and *insists* on their crap bugfest being the only way to play.
    That's what I just did. I'm putting them in an RAR archive now.
    Thx Zag! I've never installed the game tho, so will have to wait. Hopefully the GOTY that I own will be playable eventually, not buying the Anniv.
    You deserve to have a game make you
    so miserable. You're a neurotic douche.
    BTW, do you like the smell of PW's ass?
    Yeah, Bethesda has apparently really shat the bed again with the FO4 Anniversary edition. It's basically just the original game (and DLC)
    with the "Next Generation" patch added a few years ago, some bug
    fixes, and its "Creation Bundle". The latter doesn't even come with
    any worthwhile mods (or "Creation Club items", as Bethesda calls them.
    You get 150 items, but they're all very low quality and small).
    And even if you already own Fallout 4, all the DLC and the Creations
    Bundle, you STILL are paying $60USD for the privilege.
    All this and incompatibility with all the best mods. Oh, and a whole
    slew of new bugs to boot! What a deal, Bethesda!
    But as to the main topic: the TV show.
    I wasn't as enamored with the first season. It was okay, and was truer
    to its source material than almost any other TV show or movie based on
    a video game... but at the same time I found its characters and
    storyline not that interesting; I thought the black humor was a bit
    overdone, and there were just too many callbacks and fan-service
    references. It was good Fallout, I suppose, but --like many Bethesda
    works-- lacked good storytelling and dialogue. Passable fare, but not
    anything that exciting. It was good enough that I'll watch the second
    season but if it never came out I wouldn't be that bothered either.
    I actually rather liked it and I think that in part this was due to
    going into it I pretty much thought they are going to screw it up
    completely and probably turn it into some sort of action movie.
    Maybe I can compare it to the Outer Worlds game. I very much enjoyed it without thinking it was anything special.
