    Location, location, location...

Yes, you could run a Cheetah as RAID 0, running just one drive. Is that
    what you envision happening?

    Fast/Wide Streaming RAID Adapter/A https://www.ardent-tool.com/RAID/Cheetah.html

You will need a SurePath system or a Flash based complex. If this is perplexing, just tell me what system will you be running the Cheetah on?

RAID 0 needs two drives, fast, but no parity, I think...

Also, RAID formatted drives will have to be reformatted to use on
    normular SCSI controllers...

It appears that RAID 0 single drive MIGHT be supported on the Passplay.

Note the Passplay and DAC960M ADFs are similar. But the DAC960M directly supports Int13. I'd say there is a good possumbility you could add the
    "INT 13 Support" section from @8F6C.ADF to @8FBB.ADF .

But we don't know for sure.

    INT 13 Support:

If the boot device is connected to the IBM SCSI-2 Fast/Wide Streaming
RAID Adapter/A make sure that the INT 13 support of the Streaming-RAID Adapter/A is enabled. INT 13 support can be enabled/disabled during
    system setup time by selecting

    - Set configuration
    - Change configuration
    - and pressing F6.

Systems that support boot from devices connected to the Streaming-RAID Adapter, the INT 13 support will be automatically set to enabled during
system configuration. INT 13 support will be automatically set to
disabled in systems that do not support boot from the Streaming-RAID
