As of yesterday my 3 laptops are all running Windows 11 25H2. That
includes 2 8 year old HP laptops that needed a little encouraging to get there. The processor was the only issue that stopped the "official"
update. Both were on 24H2 since July 2025.
All it took was a download of the 25H2 ISO on a thumb drive and a tiny
patch from the FLYBY11/FLYOOBE site. The process took a while once
started. But, 2 more laptops spared from the waste stream.
Both of these laptops run W11 as fast as W10 and are getting all updates
that my 4 year old Dell that came with W11 gets. They were never offered
25H2 via Windows Update so I took that on myself.
Can you do the same with your 5 year old Macs that do not qualify for
the latest OS version? Especially with the announced phaseout of Rosetta
2 starting to 2027.
